Welcome To Summit Ski Area
Summit is the oldest ski area in the Pacific Northwest, and was the first on Mount Hood. Since our beginnings in 1927, we have continued to provide a safe, family oriented area that is easy to get to, and best of all, extremely affordable. Summit Ski Area, established in 1927, is the second oldest continuous operating ski area in the United States. Summit's base elevation is 4,000 feet and has 306 feet of vertical lift for skiing. The Winter Sports Facility, as it was referred to many years ago, was developed in the Government Camp area as a result of a massive rescue search for lost skiers during a storm New Year's week in 1926.
Summit Ski Area also operates the Snow Bunny snow play / tubing area. Snow Bunny is 2 miles East of Summit Ski Area. The snow play fees are the same as the Summit snow play fees.
